It is the desire of RBTC that all of our students be dressed modestly and in good taste. The dress codes outlined below apply at all times when attending classes and during school hours:
- Monday through Thursday—Business Casual Dress Code
- Friday—Spirit Day or Business Casual Dress Code
Note: You will not be allowed to violate the dress code. If you are in violation of the dress code, you will be asked to leave the campus and you will be counted absent for that day. The Dean, any faculty member, or any Admissions Office staff member is authorized to speak to you if you are out of dress code.
BUSINESS CASUAL DRESS CODE (Monday–Thursday)
WOMEN—Acceptable Attire
- Dresses or blouses and skirts, collared shirts, blouses, suits, blazers/jackets, sweaters, and turtlenecks with dress slacks (including khakis, corduroys, capris of mid–calf length or cropped pants, gauchos, or other non-denim slacks).
- Leggings may only be worn with appropriate length skirt (mid-knee length or longer).
- Dress/skirt length must be mid-knee or longer. Any slit on the front of a skirt or dress may not rise above the knee. Any slit on the side or back may not exceed 3–4 inches above the knee.
- Slacks must be worn at the waist (no hip-huggers).
- Acceptable shoes include dressy sandals, dressy flip-flops, dress shoes, dressy-casual shoes, and boots.
Note: If wearing sandals, please have well-groomed feet and toenails.
Note: Shirts, blouses, and sweaters must cover stomach and midriff area entirely at all times, even when arms are raised.
Unacceptable Attire
- Tops with spaghetti straps or any clothing with a low-cut neckline, revealing or clingy blouses or sweaters, T-shirts, graphic T–shirts, sweatshirts, or sweatpants.
- Zipup or pullover hoodies
- Miniskirts, skorts, or jeans of any kind or color, painter pants, cargo pants or pants with pockets down the leg, hip-huggers, or bermuda shorts.
- Beachwear-type flip-flops, tennis shoes of any kind, athletic shoes, hiking boots, sport socks, etc.
- Gothic attire or extreme accessories.
- Extreme hairstyles or hair colors.
- Hats, caps, stocking or toboggan caps, and/or bandannas.
- Body piercing. On the first violation, the student will be verbally reprimanded. For any body piercing violation after that, the student will be fined $50.
MEN—Acceptable Attire
- Dress or casual slacks, khakis, corduroys, or Dockers-type slacks. (Slacks must be worn at the waist. No baggy or saggy pants allowed.)
- Collared shirts, oxfords, polos, or sport shirts with collars may be worn. Ties are optional.
Note: Shirts must be tucked in unless they have squared bottoms which are designed to be worn outside. Shirts may not have advertisements, excessive designs, wording, or logos on them, with the exception of approved RHEMA clothing.
- Sweaters and turtlenecks, blazers, sport coats, and suits.
- Dress shoes or dressy casual shoes with socks are required.
- Beards and mustaches must be kept clean, groomed, and at an appropriate length.
- Hair must not extend much below the TOP of the shirt collar and must not cover more than half the ear, or touch the eyebrows. Hair MUST be neatly groomed and well-kept, with no extreme design, cut, or colors.
Unacceptable Attire
- Jeans of any color, painter pants, or sweatpants.
- Hats or caps of any style.
- T-shirts of any style, or sweatshirts.
- Zipup or pullover hoodies
- Flip-flops, sandals, slides, tennis shoes, hiking boots, any type of athletic shoes, etc.
- Gothic attire or extreme accessories.
- Headbands, hats, caps, stocking caps, toboggan hats, and bandannas.
- Excessive hair length, or extreme colors or styles.
- Body piercing. On the first violation, the student will be verbally reprimanded. For any violation after that, the student will be fined $50.
- Earrings—Earrings or any other ear jewelry are not considered appropriate for a Christian man, particularly one studying to be a minister.
- Male students are not allowed to wear earrings on campus (including the gym, basketball games, library, and church) at any time.
- A verbal reprimand will be given to any male student the first time he is found wearing an earring or earrings on the RBTC campus, or at any RBTC function at any time.
- For any occurrence thereafter, the student will be fined $50.
SPIRIT DAY DRESS CODE (Friday only)
Every Friday throughout the school year is “Spirit Day” at RBTC.
Note: Spirit Day Dress Days may be canceled or changed at any time by the Administration for special events such as Winter Bible Seminar, RHEMA College Weekend, seminars, conferences, or for any other reason.
On Spirit Day, students may wear authorized Spirit Day attire purchased in the RBC bookstore.
Acceptable Attire
- Authorized Spirit Day shirts may be worn with any color of denim jeans or slacks, or Dockers-type slacks in khaki, navy, or black.
- A nice-looking turtleneck shirt may be worn under authorized Spirit Day shirts, if desired.
- Men and women can wear athletic shoes only on Spirit Day.
Unacceptable Attire
- Jeans that are frayed, have holes, rips, or tears.
- Painter pants.
- Men—Flip-flops, any other type of sandals, or slides.
- Women—Beachwear-type flip-flops.
- Note: Spirit Day shirts that meet Business Casual Dress Code requirements (i.e., those with collars) may also be worn on Business Casual days with slacks or pants that also meet Business Casual Dress Code requirements. Spirit Day sweatshirts or any type of denim jeans MAY NOT be worn on Business Casual days.
